Don't stay flowers when x

Each spring brings a new blossom of wildflowers in the ditches along the highway I travel daily to work. There is one particular blue flower that has always caught my eye. I've noticed that it blooms only in the morning hours, the afternoon sun is too warm for it. Every day balenciaga handbags for approximately two weeks, I see those beautiful flowers. This spring, I started a wildflower garden in our yard. I can look out of the kitchen window while doing the dishes and see the flowers. I've often thought that those lovely blue flowers from the ditch would look great in that bed alongside other wildflowers. Everyday I drove past the flowers thinking, "I'll stop on my way home and dig them." "Gee, I don't want to get my good clothes dirty..." Whatever the reason, I never stopped to dig them. My husband even gave me a folding shovel one year for my trunk to be used for that expressed purpose. One day on my way home from work, I was saddened to see that the highway department had mowed the ditches and the pretty blue flowers were gone. I thought to myself, "Way to go, you waited too long. You should mbt sports shoes have done it when you first saw them blooming this spring." A week ago we were shocked and saddened to learn that my oldest sister-in-law has a terminal brain prada handbags tumor. She is 20 years older than my husband and unfortunately, because of age and distance, we haven't been as close as we all would have liked.I couldn't help but see the connection between the pretty blue flowers and the relationship between my husband's sister and us. I do believe that God has given us some time left to plant some wonderful memories that will bloom every year for us.And yes, if I see the blue flowers again, you can bet I'll stop and transplant them to my wildflower garden.

my life was saved by a smile

"I was sure that I was to be killed. I became terribly nervous. I fumbled in my pockets to see if there were any cigarettes, which had escaped their search. I found one and because of my shaking hands, I could barely get it to my lips. But I had no matches, they had taken those. "I looked prada handbags through the bars at my jailer. He did not make eye contact with me. I called out to him 'Have you got a light?' He looked at me, shrugged and came over to light my cigarette. " As he came close and lit the match, his eyes inadvertently locked with mine. At that moment, I smiled. I don't know why I did that. Perhaps it was nervousness, perhaps it was because, when you get very close, one to another, it is very mbt sports shoes hard not to smile. In any case, I smiled. In that instant, it was as though a spark jumped across the gap between our two hearts, our two human souls. I know he didn't want to, but my smile leaped through the bars and generated a smile on his lips, too. He lit my cigarette but stayed near, looking at me directly in the eyes and continuing to smile. "I kept smiling at him, now aware of him as a person and not just a jailer. And his looking at me seemed to have a new dimension too. 'Do you have kids?' he balenciaga handbags asked. "'Yes, here, here.' I took out my wallet and nervously fumbled for the pictures of my family. He, too, took out the pictures of his family and began to talk about his plans and hopes for them. My eyes filled with tears. I said that I feared that I'd never see my family again, never have the chance to see them grow up. Tears came to his eyes, too. "Suddenly, without another word, he unlocked my cell and silently led me out. Out of the jail, quietly and by back routes, out of the town. There, at the edge of town, he released me. And without another word, he turned back toward the town. "My life was saved by a smile." Yes, the smile―the unaffected, unplanned, natural connection between people. I really believe that if that part of you and that part of me could recognize each other, we wouldn't be enemies. We couldn't have hate or envy or fear.

4 ways to reach a healthy weight

Diet isn't the way to go when it comes to losing weight. Most people
gain back any lost weight when they go back to their old eating
habits. So what's the best way to lose weight? weight loss is most likely to be successful when louis vuitton handbagpeople change their
habits,replacing old,unhealthy ones with new,healthy behaviors.Here
are 4 ways to make that happen: 1.Exercise. Regular exercise burns calories and builds muscle--both
of which help you feel good and keep weight off.Walking the family
dog, cycling to school, and doing other things that increase your daily
level of activity can all make a difference. 2.Reduce screen time. One reason people get less exercise these
days is the amount of time spent in watching TV,surfing the Internet
,or playing the video games.Limit screen time to less than 2 hours per
day.If you're with your friends at the shopping center, you're getting
more exercise than if you're chatting with them on the Internet. 3.Eat enough fruits and vegetables.Fruits and vegetables are about
more than just vitamins. They're also packed with fiber, which mean
they fill you up.When you fill up on fruits and vegetables, you're less
likely to overeat. gucci handbags 4.Don't forget your breakfast.Breakfast starts your
metabolism, burning calories from the morning and giving you energy
to do more during the day.People who ignore breakfast often feel so
hungry that they would eat more leter on.

make every day acount

“I was once told by someone that I should end each day by crossing

it off my calendar and saying out loud, “There goes another day of

my life, never to return again.” Try this for yourself, and notice how

much it sharpens your focus. When you end a day with the feeling

that you would have lived it the same if you had the chance to repeat

it, you gain a sense of gratitude that helps you focus on what's really

important to you. When you end the day with a feeling of regret or

loss, you gain the awareness to try a different approach the next day

” If we're not careful, we don't notice that the days are passing us

The Definition of “Price”

Prices determine how resources are to be used. They are also the means by which products and services that are in limited supply are rationed among buyers. The price system of the United States is a complex network composed of the prices of all the products bought and sold in the economy as well as those of a myriad of services, including labor, professional, transportation, and public-utility services. The interrelationships of all these prices make up the “system” of prices. The price of any particular product or service is linked to a broad, complicated system of prices in which everything seems to depend more or less upon everything else. If one were to ask a group of randomly selected individuals to define “price”, many would reply that price is an amount of money paid by the buyer to the seller of a product or service or, in other words that price is the money values of a product or service as agreed upon in a market transaction. This definition is, of course, valid as far as it goes. For a complete understanding of a price in any particular transaction, much more than the amount of money involved must be known. Both the buyer and the seller should be familiar with not only the money amount, but with the amount and quality of the product or service to be exchanged, the time and place at which the exchange will take place and payment will be made, the form of money to be used, the credit terms and discounts that apply to the transaction, guarantees on the product or service, delivery terms, return privileges, and other factors. In other words, both buyer and seller should be fully aware of all the factors that comprise the total “package” being exchanged for the asked-for amount of money in order that they may evaluate a given price.

Heaven on Earth.

If you woke pup this morning with more health than illness...you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation…you are ahead of 500 million people in the world. If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep… you are richer than 75% of this world. If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in dish someplace...you are among the top 8% of the world’s wealth. If your parents are still alive and still married...you are very rare, even in the United Stated and Canada.Someone once said: What goes around comes around.So...Work live you don’t need the money.Love like you’ve never been hurt.Dance like nobody’s watching.Sing like nobody’s listening.Live like it’s Heaven on Earth.

for health, please throw away the lipstick

Men, be warned! That lipstick you love on your girlfriend or wife may be a health risk.the cosmetics most women put on each morning are really too old to be used, according to an expert at the College of Optometrists in London. A five-year-old mascara or lipstick may not smell(too)bad, but it will probably be full of bacteria. "The make-up you use should be as fresh as the food you consume. But women keep their make-up for many years, not to mention sharing it with friends."”If you're not sure wether your cosmetics are safe, keep in mind what expert say: most such products can be used for a maximum of 18 months.

The rich man sleeping more sweet

There are two conflicting stereotypes when it comes to the activity levels of the wealthy. There is the populist version: the fat cat sitting lazily on his yacht or Palm Beach, Fla., veranda. Then there is the conservative version: the hyper-kinetic workaholic that would rather dream of new business than sleep. Neither is a complete portrait; both exist in reality. But a new study suggests the affluent may, overall, be better rested than the A new Gallup-Healthways survey found that 28% of individuals with incomes of 90,000 or more said they didn't feel well-rested yesterday. That is below than the 35% of those with incomes of less than 24,000. What explains the difference? The nonwealthy probably stay up at night worrying about money. "Any of a wide range of factors that are correlated with income could have influenced lower income Americans' reports of not feeling well-rested the day before the survey," the report says. "These factors include, among others, greater daily stress, greater financial worry, lower job satisfaction, and poorer physical health compared with wealthier respondents." Still, I'm not sure the data would hold if it went higher up the wealth ladder. From my reporting, the very rich can be just as stressed out and sleepless than the merely affluent-if not more so, what with all those companies to run, people to manage, bills to pay, charities to support, homes to keep up and feckless cousins to bail out. Not that we should pity their high-price hyperactivity. But, I don't think more money necessarily leads to more rest.

1℃ love

In a cold winter,a couple had to move out from the luxury villa because of the bandruptcy. The husband worked day and night to support the family, but with no care of his wife.So she thought,"He doesn't love me anymore,he just cares his business, not me." One day,she began to take a bath,he stopped her at the door,"Let me take it first ,OK?" "Why not let me shower first?"she asked. "I was tired, sweetie, you take it later,OK?" She was totally depressed. On a morose day,she found nothing to do and turned on his computer,a few words blurred her eyes.It was his diary: Today,I was quite sad.She asked me why I was always taking the bath first, and I sad to her I was exhausted. She was unhappy. In her mind,I treated her not as well as usual. But how can I do,I was not as rich as before,we moved to the small apartment, there's only a shower in the bathroom. It was so cold to take a shower in such a freezing winter. But I found that if one person took the shower first, the room could get a little warm.So every time,I rushed to the bathroom first.I was thinking that when she took the shower, the room would get warmer,at least 1℃,2℃,or3℃... Now,I cann't give her comfortable life, bring her to the luxury restaurant, buy expensive dresses for her,but at least I can give her one degree centigrade LOVE.

The less complain, the more happy life

If we really want to be happy, why do we act like such babies? We can claim to be proactive in our life by settings goals and going after what we want. But if we’re always whining and complaining all the time, are we really living effectively? If you don’t believe me, count how many times you complain about something or other in one day. Whether it be being stuck in traffic, being bothered by the weather, not enough mustard on your sandwich, or whatever it is, there are endless instances where you can find a reason to complain. But it’s not just outside circumstances that we complain about. We complain about about ourselves too. We complain that we don’t have enough time, we don’t have enough money (this one is huge because it’s often “true”), that we’re not smart enough, cool enough, or just enough.I know I’ve experienced plenty of unpleasantness due to complaining about things I can’t control. I never really thought about it much until I found this website about “living in a complain free world.” Imagine how much happier you would be if you simply stopped complaining? Much of what you complain about is outside of your control anyway. What’s the point of brooding about something you have no power to change? Not very intelligent, if you ask me. Simply becoming conscious of how much you complain is the first step to stopping. When you recognize that you’re complaining, stop and take notice of it. Ask yourself if you would rather complain, or be happy.

Visiting Washington This Summer

It's Spring — prime tourist season in the Washington, D.C., area. But sweltering summer weather will soon arrive along the Potomac River, and America's most famous farmhouse is ready. Mount Vernon, the home of George Washington, the nation's first president, is air-conditioned.The owners of historic properties wrestle with a basic question: Should we preserve our treasure as close as possible to its condition when famous people lived or worked here? After all, we do things like scraping through layers of paint just to find and restore authentic colors from a century or two ago. Or should we bend our preservationist principles and make the place comfortable for visitors and staff? The Mount Vernon Ladies' Association — the nation's first preservationist organization that once saved Washington's estate from ruin after the U.S. Civil War — struggled mightily with this dilemma. For years many members opposed any climate-control measures, noting that George and Martha Washington certainly never flipped on an air-conditioning switch. They also worried that the installation of a/c would damage plaster and wallpaper and wood. When the Mount Vernon Ladies decided to go ahead and put in the cooling system a few years ago, two key staff members resigned in protest. One called the move unethical. But renovation forces won out. Air conditioning would help preserve valuable furniture and musical instruments that heat and humidity were degrading, they argued. And contractors convinced them that vents and ducts and such would be barely noticeable.

who stole the watch

It was very hot in the small courtroom and everybody was feeling sleepy. After a tiring morning, the clerks were anxious to get off to lunch and even the judge must have felt relieved when the last case came up before the court. A short,middle-aged man with gray hair and small blue eyes was now standing before him. The man had a foolish expression on his face and he kept looking around stupidly as if he was trying hard to understand what was going on.The man was accused of breaking into a house and stealing a cheap watch. The witness who was called did not give a clear account of what had happened. He claimed to have seen a man outside the house one night, but on being questioned further, he confessed that he was not sure whether this was the man. The judge considered the matter for a short moment and then declared that as there was no real proof, the man could not be found guilty of any crime. He said that the case was dismissed and then rose to go.Meanwhile, the accused looked very puzzled. It was clear that he had not understood a thing. Noticing this, the judge paused for a moment and then the man said suddenly,"Excuse me, sir, but do I have to give the watch back or not?"

pace

There once was a King who offered a prize to the artist who would paint the best picture of peace. Many artists tried. The King looked at all the pictures, but there were only two he really liked and he had to choose between them. One picture was of a calm lake. The lake was a perfect mirror, for peaceful towering mountains were all around it. Overhead was a blue sky with fluffy white clouds. All who saw this picture thought that it was a perfect picture of peace. The other picture had mountains too.But these were rugged and bare. Above was an angry sky from which rain fell and in which lightening played. Down the side of the mountain tumbled a foaming waterfall. This did not look peaceful at all.But when the King looked, he saw behind the waterfall a tiny bush growing in a crack in the rock.In the bush a mother bird had built her nest. There, in the mist of the rush of angry water, sat the mother bird on her nest... perfect peace.Which picture do you think won the prize? The King chose the second picture."Because," explained the King,"Peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. Peace means to be in the mist of all those things and still be calm in your heart. That is the real meaning of peace."

Dig a Little Deeper

There's a story about the California gold rush that tells of two brothers who sold all they had and went prospecting for gold. They discovered a vein of the shining ore, staked a claim, and proceeded to get down to the serious business of getting the gold ore out of the mine. All went well at first, but then a strange thing happened. The vein of gold ore disappeared! They had come to the end of the rainbow, and the pot of gold was no longer there. The brothers continued to pick away, but without success. Finally, they gave up in disgust. They sold their equipment and claim rights for a few hundred dollars, and took the train back home. Now the man who bought the claim hired an engineer to examine the rock strata of the mine. The engineer advised him to continue digging in the same spot where the former owners had left off. And three feet deeper, the new owner struck gold. A little more persistence and the two brothers would have been millionaires themselves. That's gold in you too. Do you need to dig three feet Deeper? So don't give up on the way.

enbracing your enemy

Everyone has a enemy, but the enemy is yourself.it's said that the biggest enemy is yourself .yes,i think so.Across a small drugstore, a large chain store was newly opened and would defeat the business of the small drugstore. The shopkeeper of the drugstore went to a priest to talk about his concern. The priest suggested, “You stand in front of your store every day to pray for it to prosper, and then turn around to pray for that chain store likewise, that is, to embrace your enemy in public.” Some days later, as what the shopkeeper worried, his store shut down, but he was appointed as the manager of the chain store, and earned more than before.

take a loving look

How we see our partners often depends more on how we are than they are.Husbands and wives are not audience, but participant observers in each other's life."Before we were married ,my husband was a caring, energetic man,"a wife once told me."He couldn't seem to keep his hands off me .Since we've been married,he's become a couch potato and watches ball games more than he watches me.He's gone from stud to spud.""Very funny,"answered the husband."But have you looked at yourself lately?Went we got married ,you were beautiful .Now you wear that old robe.If I've gone stud to spud, then you've gone from doll to drudge. "This hurtful ,infantile argument illustrates how spouses, instead of looking for love ,may look for flaws. It is way of seeing.Author Judith Viorst once wrote,"Infutuation is when you think he's as gorgeous as Robert Redford,as pure as Solzhenitsyn,as fanny as Woody Allen,as athletic as Jimmy Connors, and as smart as Albert Einstein .Love is when you realize he's as gorgeous as Woody Allen,as smart as Jimmy Connors,as funny as Solzhenitsyn,as athletic as Albert Einstein, and nothing like Robert Redford in any category--but you'll take him anyway "This law of lasting love instructs us to look with instead of for love.

The Straight Facts of the youth

For most people, adolescence is a difficult time of life filled with pressure from peers, parents, and school. For gay, lesbian, and bisexual teens, however, the stress of this period multiplies, especially for those living in societies which refuse to accept them.Statistics on gay youth illustrate some of the pain and isolation they face. Because many are rejected or disowned1 by their families, gay and lesbian teens make up 42 percent of the homeless youth in America. They also attempt suicide at a rate two to three times higher than that of their heterosexual counterparts, and are at greater risk for drug and alcohol abuse.Beyond an often hostile home environment, gay youth also lack allies2 and avenues for support at school. One study indicates that 97 percent of non-heterosexual youth reported hearing homophobic3 taunts at school, while roughly 22 percent said they have been threatened with physical violence because of their sexual orientation.Attitudes may change, however, as schools are beginning to recognize such prejudice as a health and safety issue. Schools are searching for ways to ameliorate4 the situation, including setting up gay-straight alliance clubs and cracking down on harassment. At the same time, many nonprofit groups are reaching out to provide services to gay and lesbian teens. The support that such youth need the most, however, is that of their families and friends.

Michael is the kind of guy you love to hate. He is always in a good mood and always has something positive to say. When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, "If I were any better, I’d be twins!” He was a natural motivatorIf an employee was having a bad day, Michael was there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation. Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up to Michael and asked him, "I don' t get it. You can' t be positive all the time. How do you do it?" Michael replied, each morning I wake up and say to myself 'Mike, you have two choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or you can choose to be in a bad mood.' I choose to be in a good mood. Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it. Every time someone comes to me complaining I can choose to accept their complaining or I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the positive side of life."

spelling

Spelling is a learned skill not a special talent. Spelling can be mastered by learning a few basic rules about when to change the endings on words. Most spelling rules have to do with adding suffixes in some form to a base word. This chapter reviews the five most important spelling rules including when you should double the consonant at the end of a word before adding -ed or -ing and when to change a y to an i before adding an ending. Another aspect of spelling besides endings is knowing when to join words and when to separate them. The chapter has a list of words that should always be separated like the word a lot. A lot is not a word. There is also a look at words whose spellings change depending on the meaning of the word. Spelling can be mastered through learning a few rules and getting lots of practice.

What Are the Risks of Smoking

Before Dr. Luther L. Terry, then the Surgeon General of the United States,

issued his office's first "Report on Smoking and Health" more than 30 years

ago, thousands of articles had already been written on the effects of tobacco

use on the human body.
Tobacco companies had countered the reports--which purported to show

links between smoking and cancer and other serious diseases--with denials

and competing studies.
So in 1964, Terry and his Advisory Committee on Smoking and Health knew

they were stepping into a major pit of controversy when they announced

"cigarette smoking is a health hazard of sufficient importance in the United

States to warrant appropriate remedial action".
It was America's first widely publicized acknowledgment that smoking

cigarettes is a cause of serious diseases.
But the issue wasn't settled in 1964, nor is it settled in 1997, despite literally

thousands more studies--and litigation that has forced at least one tobacco

company to admit what some activists say they knew all along: cigarette

smoke is hazardous to your health.
More than 30 years--and more than 20 Surgeon General reports--later, the

issue appears headed for settlement in the courtroom rather than the

laboratory.

language

When we want to tell other people what we think, we can do it not only with the help of words, but also in many other ways. Words consist of sounds, but there are many sounds which have a meaning and yet are not words. For example, we may say "Sh-sh-sh" when we mean "keep silent." When babies laugh, we know they are happy, and when they cry, we know they are ill or simply want something. It is the same with animals. When a dog says "G-r-r" or a cat says "F-f-f" we know they are angry. But these sounds are not language. Language consists of words which we put together into sentences. But animals can not do this: a dog can say "G-r-r" when he means "I am angry," but he cannot say first "I" and then "am" and they "angry." A parrot can talk like a man; it can repeat whole sentences and knows what they mean. We may say that a parrot talks, but cannot say that it really speaks, because it cannot from new sentences out of the words it knows. Only man has the power to do this.
